Description

Berberis vulgaris has an action on the venous system producing pelvic engorgements and haemorrhoids. Indicated in hepatic & rheumatic affections particularly with urinary, haemorrhoidal & Menstrual complaints. It is useful in renal and bladder affections, Kidney stones, Gall-stones, Cystitis and Vesical catarrh with marked pain in the region of kidneys. Indicated in inflammation of kidneys (nephritis) with haematuria. There are symptoms like burning pains, sensation as if some urine remained after micturating, bubbling sore sensation in kidneys, urine with thick mucus and bright red, mealy sediment, frequent micturition, and urethra burns when not micturating.

It acts well in fleshy people with good livers, but with little endurance. All Berberis pains radiate, changing rapidly with regards to the place and character, and are worse in various attitudes, especially when standing and during active exercise. Pain may be felt all over the body, originating from the lumbar region. It also relieves neuralgia under finger-nails, Itching of skin. Eczema of anus & hands with itching and burning that is worse from scratching and better by cold application.
