Description

Cataract is the opacity or clouding of the normally clear and transparent lens of the eye. It is a gradual, progressive thickening of the lens and is most commonly caused due to aging. Cataract development is characterized by decreased visual acuity or vision, double or blurred vision, increased sensitivity to light. A diabetic person is prone to get cataract at an earlier age. As mentioned in the homoeopathic literature Cineraria maritima is the drug of choice which helps in curbing the progress of opacities in the lens opacities (Dictionary of Practical Mental Medica, Clarke, J.H. Reprint Ed. 1995).
