Indicated in cases of gout and uric acid diathesis. Antidotes the ill-effects of eating shellfish. Urtica urens is the first remedy to be thought of for first degree burns. It produces stinging and burning pains. It has a reputation for helping women build up their milk supply when it is scanty and it also helps nursing mothers who have no milk at all, a condition called agalactorrhea.

It has Rheumatism associated with urticaria-like eruptions. Among the rheumatic pains, a pain in the right deltoid muscle is very striking. Right side is affected mostly but also the left hypochondrium (spleen). Symptoms return at the same time every year. It helps reduce the pain and swelling of bee and wasp bites. Indicated in Chicken-pox, Neuritis, and Angioneurotic oedema. Relieves itching or pruritis in various parts of the body. It is of use in dropsical effusions when the upper part of body is greatly swollen, pale and covered with small confluent vesicles filled with serum. In erysipelatous inflammation of extremities with burning heat and formication of skin. Indicated in menorrhagia alternating with acrid leucorrhoea, and for epistaxis.
