- The processing and storage of iron necessary for red blood cell production
- Manufacture of cholesterol and other chemicals required for fat transport
- Conversion of waste products of body metabolism into urea that is excreted in the urine
- Metabolizing medications into their active ingredient in the body

Liver diseases donβt always throw noticeable signs and symptoms but if they occur they may include :
- Yellowish skin and eyes(jaundice)
- Pain in abdomen with fullness
- Swelling of the legs and around ankles
- Itchy skin
- Dark colored urine
- Pale stools
- Chronic weakness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Decreased appetite
- Tendency to bruise easily
